Temperament and living together
Lively, confident and very alert. It is sociable and likes to be part of everything that happens at home. It tends to bark to give warning, so training from puppyhood is worthwhile. Because of its size and fragility, it suits homes with older children who know how to handle it with respect.
Daily care
Its double coat needs frequent brushing, several times a week and daily during the moult. It needs daily walks, play and mental stimulation, and good dental hygiene.
Health and prevention
Good dental hygiene, using a harness instead of a collar on walks and keeping a healthy weight all contribute to its well-being and keep it agile.
